The Idea (Dream) of the Story

It was about a young, male green dragon who had just entered the age of his transformation. Apparently, dragons appear as humans for a period of time and then are able to transform into their true form. They can revert to human form (this is important to the little plot the dream gave me last night). The dragons carry a tribal society and there are only chromatic dragons (Red, Blue, etc.), there's myth that there are Metallic Dragons (Gold, Bronze, etc.), but there's little, if any, evidence to the existence of such a type.

The colors of the dragons are (That I got from the dream):

Red - Usually have personalities that as warm as their breath--which means they can also be hot-headed and violently angry--or warm and friendly. Whichever is the case. They breath fire. A Red Dragon, accompanied by a Blue Dragon are watching over the main character (I'll explain the reasoning later)

Blue - Blue Dragons can either be very cold personality-wise, or be free-spirited beings like the free-flowing of a river. They either breath ice or water.

Green - Green Dragons are curious creatures and tend to get along with those who are at peace with nature. They are actually the kindest and most gentle-type of dragons despite the fact that they breathe poisonous gas. The main character is a Green Dragon.

Black - Black dragons do what they want, love who they want, and no one gets in their way unless they feel like allowing it. During the dream, the main character asks a Black Dragon to teach him how to do a Black Dragon's specialty attack called a "Meteor Rain." Sadly, Black Dragons are not allowed to teach other dragons of their color of their technique. It's a tradition handed down from generation to generation of all the dragons. However, the Black Dragon was rather willing to show the main character what a Meteor Rain looked like. Black Dragon's breathe Toxic Smoke.

Gray - Gray Dragons are like wild foreigners. They love parties, dancing and have the strange ability to get anyone moving their feet across the dance floor, err, field actually. I only got a shot of a Gray Dragon in the dream doing some foreign dance. They breath stony dust that turns people into stone.

Shadow - I really don't know why this type was here, but it was dancing with the Gray Dragon in my dream. Go figure. *shrug*

Now there were names of the Dragon characters in the Dream, but I forgot them as I awoke. While I was dreaming, it was from the perspective of the main character--the young male Green Dragon. A Blue, and a Red Dragon are his teachers of how to fly, breathe, and some special techniques that all chromatic dragons (except Black, they cannot learn specialties from other dragons either) like to share with each other.

There was another race in the story. Pixies. Pixies tend to get along best with the Green Dragons, but they have a different society and their own government system. This is the part where Dragons being able to shift back into human form becomes important. Pixies are actually about as tall as humans, so the Dragons can talk one-on-one with a Pixy without intimidating them.

There are some strict laws in the Pixy society and a way to pardon oneself if they break the laws through something called the "Atonement Process." I never got any details on the Atonement Process in the dream at all; however, I did see the punishment. Strangely enough, the laws and the tribunal rulings of the Dragons are interlinked. Probably for some treaty or something. I wasn't sure.

There is only one punishment, that was shown to me in the dream, in the Pixy society--death. If a pixy fails his/her Atonement Process, they are taken on airships and their wings are tied up. There, they are strapped to the very front of the ship, which is the bow. Once they reach the location of the punishment, which is over a Giant Viper's den, the pixy's ropes holding them to the bow are cut (however, the ones binding their wings are not) and they fall, usually, into the Viper's mouth to be eaten alive--without their wings to fly to safety. Scary, eh?

Well, there is a law forbidding mating between a pixy and a dragon under the pixy world. However, there is a law that the Dragons and the Pixies share: A Dragon can overrule a law temporarily at their will. Anyway, the law is so strict that it even forbids flirtation between the two races. The pixies consider the birth of a mixture between a pixy and a dragon--A Faiere Dragon--an abomination (which has something to do with them become a wizard's familiar, but I don't recall).

There was a female pixy that did flirt with the main character while he was in human form, and he was rather fond of her too. Under the tribal laws of the Dragons, there is no forbiddence of a union between the two races, so no one took offense to the fact that these two were starting to fall in love with each other.

The Pixy Government finds out about this violation of their laws and the Female Pixy is taken and bound to a ship to be fed to one of the Giant Vipers. The main character swaps to his dragon form and rescues the female pixy and then demands (not knowing the government laws) why she was about to fed. Being a Dragon, although a young one, the main character has the power to overrule her sentence, but he does not know that he can.

For some odd reason, a sort of mini-court case takes place later on a tree with the main character, some governmental pixies, the female pixy, the Red and Blue Dragon that taught the main character, and the Black Dragon that refused to teach the main character how to unleash a Meteor Rain. He promised to show it off and the dragons discovered that the pixies had actually not offered an "Atonement Process" for the female pixy (remember, all these characters had names in the dream, but I forgot them. X.x).

This creates an outrage between the dragons, insomuch that they see it as a violation of the connected laws between the Pixies and the Dragons. The Black Dragon casually suggested that if this was not fixed that the main character would get to see a Meteor Rain--on the governmental pixies.

After that, the dream ended. It seems like I have something for an original story idea, but there are heavy contradictions, like, how is a pixy as large as a human? Or are all the dragons just smaller and their human form smaller? Because in the dream, the mini-court took place on a stump. With the three other dragons perched in a nearby tree (actually it looked like cable-wiring, but... ya know, it's a dream, weird things happen--and the Black Dragon looked like it was holding his own in the air for the whole period). The pixies were on the stump with the main character who had swapped to his human form.
